Tour Itinerary
Our drive starts from PWTC, to Kuala Selangor takes approximately 1.5
hours and on arrival we will visit Kuala Selangor Nature Park.
Specialised guide will be provided which also will include binoculars
and field guide rental.
The park is an Important Bird Area (IBA) with over 168 species of
local & migratory birds from Russia, China and Japan. The Park also
showcases the variety of mangrove and wetland tree species.
Next we will proceed to Bukit Melawati where
Fort Altingsburg is located. The hilltop is crowned by a lighthouse
and tall beautiful shady trees a haven for local birds, silvered leaf
monkeys and long tail macaques.
At dusk we drive across the bridge over the Selangor River for a
seafood dinner at the fishing Village. After dinner we take a 15
minutes drive to a Malay Village, where we board a typical Malay
4-seater wooden row boat (Sampan). Life jackets are provided and the
boatmen would row us along the river.
Here swarms of fireflies of the species Pteroptyx tener will present us
with a dazzling display of lights flickering in synchrony that
resemble twinkling electric lights on a Christmas tree.
The duration of tour is 8 hours and departs at 1500 hours -
daily departures available upon request.
